If you're feeling tired, here are some food tips to help you boost your energy. 

1. Eat foods with iron. Iron from red meats are easily absorbed but should only be eaten on occasion. Plant sources of iron are absorbed much easier when consumed with a source of vitamin C. Examples: spinach salad with strawberries, beans with red bell peppers, quinoa and kale with mangos, lentils with lemon juice and oil dressing.  Cooking with cast iron pans increases iron in food too! 

2. Drink plenty of water to keep up your blood volume to feel energized. Aim for 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water. 

3. Eating a snack mix of carbs, fats, and protein digests slowly to keep you from crashing.  Examples: trail mix, apple and peanut butter, whole grain crackers and cheese, Greek yogurt with fruit, veggies and hummus

*Don't forget plenty of sleep!!!!!
