Most people think they are making a healthy smoothie but it's actually loaded with sugar that sabotages weight loss.
This smoothie is low in sugar, full of healthy fats, and a great source of protein to keep your metabolism revved up, keep sugar cravings away, and load your body up with nutrients.
And the best part... it's a creamy vanilla flavor that is sooo satisfying!

I recently became intrigued by the health benefits of Spirulina and dug into the research to see if there are any facts to back the claims. I was stunned by the research I came across...
- Cardiovascular Health: supplementation with 1g of spirulina for 12 weeks showed significant improvements in cholesterol
- Weight loss: supplementation with spirulina for 12 weeks showed significantly greater weight loss compared to control group
- Blood Sugar: supplementation with 2g of spirulina for 2 months significantly lowered fasting blood glucose by 19mg/dL and HbA1c by 1%.

These number are ASTOUNDING and they are only a few of the many research articles I came across. I don't get paid by spirulina companies but boy with how impressed I am I sure should!
Here's one of my favorite smoothie recipes using spirulina and other foods that are packed with nutrients.
You can adjust the amounts depending on your preferred thickness.
Ingredients:
8-12oz unsweetened almond milk
1/2 avocado
1/2 tsp. spirulina powder
1/2 frozen banana or ice
1 scoop vanilla protein powder*
* You can use any protein powder but make sure it's not high in sugar or have artificial sweeteners or food coloring added. I use the vanilla whey by TRV Fit because it is a clean product from grass-fed cows with nothing artificial and is so delicious. TRV Fit offers my readers a special 10% off if you use the code ginaworful. Feel free to check it out here: Vanilla Whey Protein
Enjoy!!
