"Like many people I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I've gained and lost so many pounds over the years - to think back on what I have put my body through is scary. I went through an extremely traumatic divorce and lost any concern for physical wellness. When the dust settled, I had to face that I'd once again 'let myself go' and begin chipping away at rebuilding my body. I had worked with Gina in the past, so I decided to reach out. In no time at all she recognized that I had fixed all kinds of relationships in my life, but never my relationship with food and my physical health. It was SCARY to start. I had made terrible habits and breaking them felt like suffering yet another loss. Tons of friends and family are involved with wellness product promotions - I so desperately wanted a quick fix. But I knew better. If I wanted to change my life for good, I needed to change the choices I made forever, not just in the short term. Gina inspired me to keep going, to LOVE what I eat and not to restrict myself. Most people don't realize how much of a mental thing this is - being mindful of our choices and getting excited about wellness instead of seeing it as a burden. I stopped obsessing about my weight and started enjoying taking care of my body. I don't live a restrictive lifestyle in the slightest, and I don't have to concern myself with ANOTHER new plan or diet. Gina truly defined 'lifestyle change' for me for good. She was creative, dedicated and she truly cares about my progress. She puts things in perspective in a way that helps you achieve goals and stay on track instead of getting overwhelmed. She said, 'we are doing this - there's no giving up and going home' - and she meant it. I would recommend her to ANYONE. I'm sure there are wonderful wellness products and programs available today but nothing is more sustainable than changing your very own insides to seek healthy choices. No one can do that for you. I don't worry about what I'm going to eat or what activities I can participate in. I just live, I eat delicious food and I don't worry about being in a diet prison. This is a lifestyle change and this is where true success comes from."
"Lets just start out by saying, I LOVE FOOD. My affection for food began while living in Italy back in 2001; I was 13 at the time. Before that my diet consisted of Vanilla Wafers, Mac and Cheese, grilled cheese, and munching on raw noodles. I guess you could say I was living in the dark when it came to what real food was.
Fast forward to 2012, and being a little entrepreneur, my father and I opened a High Performance Electric Indoor Karting Center. Time was at a premium, I would find myself eating whatever I could get my hands on. That meant pizza delivered to the track or takeout from local restaurants. On the outside people thought I looked healthy (thank you genetics), but the inside was a completely different story. I would get so tired, I would struggle to focus and stay motivated. Ordering takeout everyday isn’t cheap either.
Changes had to be made because I was losing my love of food. It had almost become a necessary evil. Enter Gina! Time is still at a premium but Gina has given me the tools to establish a healthier relationship with food. I’m enjoying what I eat again. I had tried other diets before talking with Gina. They provided me the nutrients I needed but I didn’t enjoy the food one bit. Food, along with life is meant to be enjoyed, not just a means to an end. Along with enjoying my food again, I’m saving money and eating much better. No one said change is easy but it is possible. Gina helps make that change a much greater possibility! She understands food is meant to be enjoyed and she’s equipped with the specific knowledge to fit your individual needs. Gina is genuinely passionate about human nutrition, one conversation with her and you’ll see the same thing."
"It was official in April 2015; I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and placed on oral medication. Currently at 59 ½ years old and being overweight all my life, my health was steadily declining. I have been unsuccessful with the multitude of ‘diets’ and diet pills over the years. I never knew much about registered dietitians and decided ‘what do I have to lose’…I did my research and decided on Gina Worful, Registered Dietitian.
Gina Worful encourages lifestyle changes, healthful eating, nutrition, meal planning, exercise and much more. Without giving up on the foods I love to eat, I have learned how to find food swaps that would cut back on the calories. For example, I love peanut butter which is generally 240 calories, I swapped it with PB2 (powered peanut butter), which is only 45 calories and it is delicious! I eat whole grains which are high in fiber and keep me fuller longer.
As of June 2015, I have lost 34 pounds, over 24 inches, my blood pressure has lowered significantly, my AlC level dropped from 7.5 to 6.1 (medication reduced by ½ and possibly no longer needed by next month). I am staying full throughout the day, sleeping better at night and my mobility is so much better.
I did gain a fantastic dietitian, Gina Worful, who has provided me with healthful tools for a successful lifestyle change. Thank you Gina for restoring my hope, health & happiness."
"My name is Al, I am 47 years old, my doctor told me that if I didn’t change what I was eating, eventually I would be a diabetic. The doctor said if I changed my eating habits and exercised I could change my diabetic future without any medication. I heard Gina B on the radio talking about how she helps people understand how to eat properly. Fearing diabetes, I called Gina B immediately and set up an appointment.
Gina was able to explain why certain foods I was eating made my sugar spike high, then spike low. Gina made recommendations that would keep me from eating poorly and keep my sugar from spiking. I changed the foods I was eating and noticed the difference on the first day. I immediately noticed my sugar didn’t spike. After a few days, I noticed my pants were not as tight around my waist. Just by adjusting my eating habits I started losing weight. I think the quickest thing I noticed, after I applied Gina’s recommendations, I was not starving, I didn’t feel the drop in energy (sugar spike) from lack of food.
I am very thankful to Gina. She made things easy to understand and the results are self-evident. Gina makes it easy to understand why we need certain foods. I am very happy and thankful I called GINA B."
"I began having one on one sessions with Gina to me figure out how to continue moving forward with the great things I had learned at the challenge. For the first time in longer than I can remember, I am not writing down (ie stressing out) every single thing that I eat. I have taken a completely new approach to my lifestyle and I can honestly say I have never felt happier about the choices I am making. I am still learning and I have a long way to go to reach my goals, but I know I will succeed.
I have to admit when I started listening to Kristi and Gina talk about not dieting or counting calories for the rest of my life I was dubious. When Gina told me I wasn’t eating ENOUGH and said I needed to eat more I was terrified! But I decided that if I was going to try this new approach I had to be willing to take some chances and do some things I haven’t tried before. And for the first time in a very long time I stopped feeling so deprived, started feeling satisfied and happy AND started losing weight and inches.
I am learning how to pick and choose the things I want to eat. How to skip something that doesn’t matter to me and how to enjoy the things I do eat. I am learning that making small changes that will lead to big results. Friends, family and co workers are all noticing the changes and it feels great."
"My whole life I have struggled with improper dieting. That all changed when I met Gina. She has introduced me to a whole new lifestyle! I now have a deeper understanding of nutrition that I had no idea existed. Immediately from the start, Gina made me feel very comfortable and we set realistic goals that I could accomplish with my hectic lifestyle. She even went to great lengths to meet me at the grocery store! Any question or concern I had was met with warmth and understanding.
The thing that helped me most was that I never felt I "failed"; Gina always had a way to adjust or modify my personalized plan. It wasn't my personal burden to carry alone. It had become a team journey and she was ready to help me every step of the way. I greatly appreciate Gina's time and patience when assisting me in my life's most important goal."
"Are you always hungry? Do you find yourself eating even if you’re not hungry? Does the urge for chocolate dominate every waking moment? Whether these are your issues, or you have others, I highly recommend taking 1:1 nutritional classes with Gina! She has a way of making healthy eating easy. With small little changes, I went from starving all of the time, to being happy and satisfied with my meals and snacks. I’m eating foods I love as well as eating foods I’d never tried before. We all know food isn’t always about being hungry and now I notice my triggers and am able to cope with stress eating before binging. Chocolate is just an occasional treat and not the daily focus. With Gina’s guidance, I’ve learned to spend less time guessing at what was a healthy meal and am preparing and eating healthier, satisfying foods much faster."
"I just turned 53 and I feel better than I ever have. So far I have lost 20lbs in two months just by making healthier choices, like smoothies and stir fries, that I actually love!. Paying attention to my hunger levels was also key for me to eat the right amount without ever feeling hungry. I have so much energy, love the foods I eat, and never feel deprived!"
